Biggest Loser - Week 8

Only 4 weeks left!!!
My goal is to finish strong!!!
We are finally finished with vacation/being gone on the weekends,
so I am expecting big results in the next 4 weeks.
Recipe for the Week:
Sesame Beef Stir-Fry
Body for Life Cookbook (another must buy)
2 portions brown rice (1/2 cup uncooked)
2 portions lean ground beef (1/2 pound)
1 TB sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 green onions, sliced
1 cup broccoli slaw (found by bagged salad at the store)
1 cup napa cabbage (shredded)
1 TB lite soy sauce
crushed red pepper to taste
Prepare brown rice. While cooking rice, brown ground beef. Remove from skillet and let drain. Heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and green onions, stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add broccoli slaw and cabbage; stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add rice and soy sauce; stir-fry 2 minutes. Return browned meat with rice and veggie mixture and season with red pepper flakes to taste.
**I usually double the recipe (it makes great left-overs). I also add more soy sauce and water chestnuts.
1 serving = 8 WW points

We all know that God's plan for our life is healthy mind, BODY, and spirit.
John 10:10 says that God has come so we may have life, and have it to the full (NKJV says "life more abundantly"). If you go to the beginning of John 10:10 it says, "The thief come only to steal and kill and destroy..."
I believe weight loss (when our goal is to better our bodies for Kingdom work) is a spiritual battle.
It's a FIGHT.
It's WARFARE.
I believe Satan loves to tempt us to over-eat, and then he enjoys watching us feel guilty and defeated in the hours/days that follow.
Know your enemy!
Know the victory has been won!
KNOW you have authority over the enemy!
God's Word says if we resist the devil he will flee from us.
I've been thinking...Resist is an action word.
My challenge for each of us this week is to RESIST the god of this world and call on JESUS for help. Then the victory will be ours!!!
What would happen this week if we sought help from God in prayer BEFORE we put one bite in our mouths??? I believe we would see "great and marvelous things"!!!
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 (NIV)

It definitely IS spiritual warfare! It's a daily fight for me to eat only what I need.

OK, I haven't done to good the last couple of weeks on eating or checking in. I didn't weigh again this morning so I'll have to do it later but I want to let you know I'm still here. Hope you guys are doing good.

I TOTALLY agree that Satan uses dieting/my eating/etc to keep me feeling defeated - and pathetic! I want to focus more on winning the battle...against Satan..and less on losing weight!

I feel like I've had a good week. No weight loss (but no gain) but I felt in control of my portions and choices!

The water is still a struggle - SO MUCH water!! And motivation for exercise continues to allude me! I'm with you, though - I am going to finish strong! This challenge has definitely kept me focused....and I really love your encouragement! Yes, its definitely a spiritual battle!

I LOVE your vacation pictures and updates - really looks like you guys had a great trip! You certainly packed in alot :) Glad you shared it with us.

Have a healthy week!!

Yes this is becoming a battle for me. Gained 3 lbs
Did not meet my goal. Will be traveling more this week. Praise: Went to my family Phys. and I am finally getting some relief from all of the sinus infections. My prayer request is for energy. I know my energy level is low for several reasons, and one being my lack of exercise for so long. Pray that I can be more consistent in all areas this week. Your vacation pics are great, and thanks for all of your encouraging support. Jackie

Dawn, Your vacation looked amazing and very busy!! I'm so glad you had a good time; it's pretty cool that you didn't have to give any spankings!

I gained this past week; I have a total of 1 lb loss (but can't remember how much from last week). :( I too want to finish strong! My 15year high school reunion is next month; I need to think about that when I have time to exercise!
My goal is work out 3x
My prayer request is to find ways to be a better servant for our Lord.

Dawn, thanks for all your encouragement!

Gained 2 lbs. Ugh.

Need to exercise - I have no excuses now that my summer break has really started.

Prayers needed for safe travel, along with making good/healthy eating choices during travel (we'll be gone for 3 weeks...).

I'm working on putting up some recipes, so check in later this week!

I weighed on my grandmother's scale and it said I lost 5 lbs. So I'm going with that. Ha.

My prayer request is for my kids to calm down they seem extremely cranky lately.
