One room down...

I took this picture of the boys playroom (a.k.a our dining room) on Wednesday. I haven't done a deep cleaning of our house since before Kade was born (go ahead and gasp =) Usually we move every two years so the deep cleaning starts when we move somewhere else, BUT we have lived in Levelland for 4 years so it is time. My goal is to take one room a week for the next two months and clean the light fixtures, walls, baseboards, etc.
So I got busy yesterday, and....

I am proud of myself!

(Drew said, "Oh, Mama thank you for making our playroom so clean!!=) I rotated the boys toys, so the boys were excited about the tent, Lincoln logs, and barn. I put tons of toys in the Good Will pile and tons more back in their closets for the next rotation. You would NEVER believe the cobwebs I found stuck on the side of the wall...not just in the corners where they are suppose to grow, but the wall (YUCK!!!).

I have been reading this...

Rick Warren wrote the book, Purpose Driven Life, that walked me to the foot of the Cross before I was saved. He makes complicated issues very simple, and I NEED simplicity!!! He talks about how to "study" the Bible in this book. What I have gathered so far is the importance of applying the Word. He says when you read just for knowledge you become like the Pharisee's, puffed up with pride. (I am guilty!) He says after studying a verse you should be able to apply it to your life. The application should be personal, practical, possible and provable. I am trying to apply the scripture I memorized a few weeks ago Psalm 40:1-3. My application goes like this, "I will wait patiently for God today. When I feel myself sliding back into the pit, I will call on His NAME outloud to help me and write a prayer in my journal!

I started drinking this...

I have NEVER like coffee. While I was drinking it this morning, I felt "grown-up" and I think there is a possibility my IQ went up a point or two. Ha! My SIL, Charla, and BFF, Jerri, brought my attention to this amazing coffee with and it's charm with the right amount of Fat-free creamer (4 TBS. Hee Hee!!!) and Splenda (only 4 packet). Hey, no laughing I have to "acquire" a taste for the stuff and I need "a little" help of from these tasty additives!!!

This is a quote from Lynette's blog after experiencing the loss of her second son (she's lost three children)...
"Because it wasn't a pre-diagnosed problem, I was less prepared and the days following Josiah's death were difficult. I felt a deep sadness, but that all began to change when a friend of mine came over one day and turned my thoughts around and made me view my trial with a new perspective. She told me to picture the Lord asking me if I was willing to accept a new trial for his glory. Was I willing to hurt in order to draw eyes and hearts toward Jesus? Was I willing to do God's work and suffer because he needed me to? When I looked at it that way, it gave me strength. Rather than feeling like a weak and hurting mommy, I began to feel like an honored soldier; somebody willing to suffer for the better good. It pulled me out of my despair. I would miss Josiah and look forward to being with him again one day, but for now I would carry on and continue to walk alongside my Savior"
WOW...

Lynette also does this cool "Getting to Know You" post on Mondays and Fridays!!! Go check her out!

Wow, what a surprise! My aunt Shi must be a popular lady today :). Thanks for stopping by my blog... I appreciate it! Also, ditto on the Dunkin Donuts coffee... it's my favorite! Don't feel bad about putting so much yummy stuff in it... that's how I had to drink mine when I was starting out too :). Have a great day! :)

Awesome! Come deep clean for me when you are finished! I'll have to get Rick's book. I am a baby coffee drinker too. I thought my morning Dr. Pepper was a bad example for the kids when I wouldn't allow them to have coke for breakfast. I'll have to try Dunkin Donuts. Did it make you want to stand on the roof of your house? he he

Boy, was I surprised to find out that coffee makes you grown up. Just remember it makes your teeth brown and breath smell bad plus it is very expensive. That's what I remember from my childhood sitting next to mom and dad in church. So, be sure to keep whitening toothpaste and mints around all the time. I have heard that a little cinnamon is good in it. Enjoy becoming a coffee drinker.
